Milestones from 1967-1988

1967

The Testing department is set up

1968

New site behind the old fittings hall (now the head office) is purchased

1973

Relocation to the hall that is now the old building (at the time still a profile warehouse). The offices were still located in an apartment block on Karolinenstraße.

The Testing department is renamed the Test Center

1980

Construction and commissioning of the first façade test rig (façade test rig A) and the start of testing for national and international projects

1988

Construction and commissioning of the ballistics test rig

Milestones from 1990-1999

1990

Introduction of 3D printing with the first stereolithography system

1992

Performance of the first solar tests and development of the first solar test procedures

1993

Acquisition of the first factory standards for independent and traceable calibration within the context of ISO 9001

1997

Samples Workshop and Testing departments combined to form the Technology Center

October 1999

Approval of new/conversion work on the Technology Center with façade test rig and the acoustics test rig (first vertical flanking insulation test rig in Germany)

Commissioning

50 year anniversary of Schüco

First issue of accreditation in accordance with DIN/EN/ISO/IEC 17025 as a test laboratory with worldwide recognition

Aug. 2006

Introduction of dual work for mechatronic engineers

Aug. 2009

Introduction of dual work for electrotechnical engineers

Oct. 2010

Building work starts as part of the extension of the Technology Center

2011

Commissioning of building phase I (old Granini Hall), “samples workshop” and “mechanics, durability, security”

2012

Commissioning of new test rig for "watertightness tests"

Recommissioning of ballistics test rig

Commissioning of laboratory for "environmental simulation" and "e-tests" (IP, EMV)

2014

Certificate of proficiency granted to operate a factory calibration laboratory.

2015

Commissioning of new training workshop

Introduction of dual work/study course for machine technology engineers

2016

Start of TC acoustics test centre project

First issue of accreditation as DAkkS-DKD calibration laboratory
